    Oil and Fuel Treatments

I have seen a couple threads relating to specific brands but not one that allows input on all of them.

I have used 'Slick 50 High Mile' in just about every thing and it saved butt at least one time.

I had my oil changed at a local shop in my old Caddie then put in a quart of S-50 just before I left. A week and about 200 miles later my cap and roter went out and I was towed to a shop. I got a call as soon as I got home from the shop to ask me if I knew that I only had about 1 quart of oil in my 368ci. small block. The shop never added any oil just drained it. I never ran hot and no warning lights ever came on.

Any way is there any thing that you use in your fuel and or oil to keep things going smooth. Also are the A20A3 EFI power plants harmed by any of the mass marketed items out there?

I also use a fuel treatment that if I rember is made by N.O.S. that I have proven with my own testing improves gas milage when used about the time you change the oil.

this crap is bascially snake oil. 1 qt of oil is just about enough to stay circulating in a v8. could have been more. This is why GOOD GAUGES are parmount.

Well, all I know is that whatever oil was stuck in the passages during the oil change pluse the S-50 was enough to keep it running smooth. Also the sensors where so touchy that if you where even 2 qt's low the oil and check engine light would come on. But anyway, if you and possably others don't like that stuff then what if any is good? I always use Castrol GTX for my oil.

I'm just looking to have a very reliable car and I want to one day be one of thoes few that hit the 400,000 point. But at only 140,000 I have a way to go. I at least want to beat my personal record of 225,000 in my first car (1980 Dautsun 510)
