    Thumbs up CODE 1 (read b4 flaming)

    Thats the primary oxygen sensor so all i need to know is when you open the hood and look down its the first sensor on the left correct?

    The little diagram in my '88 manual shows OČ sensor A (primary? ) being on the right. If that's correct, if you unplug the left one, you should get two codes A&B sensors.

    ok one more question, if this is bad(not working) could it be possible that it could be makin the car not run right? Cause the past few days ive had like sputtering, then it does fine once it get to a certain point. The i looked to see what code it was puttin out and it gave me this one.

    17? they told me 40 along with advanced and napa, imma buy a new one, i was just curious.

    get a universal one you have to splice the connection on if you get one with an adapter it is about 40

    Is there an easy way to do this? I tried for 2 hours, froze my ass off and i couldnt get the damn sensor to budge

    you need to use a special socket for them so you can get all the way down and over it without catching the wire. They're fairly cheap and are available at most autoparts stores. Check and see if they rent them if you don't want to buy one. I just yanked the ones off the spare motor and the ones off the car without a problem. They normally aren't hi torque items and usually are coated with anti seize

    Special socket eh? So when i go to an automotive store i should just ask whats the best socket to use to replace my o2 sensor and they should know right? Good i'll go 2morrow.

    I have the special socket and I had better luch with a 7/8 box head wrench.

    Was that before or after you put your header on??? The way the O2 sensors set in the dc, down lower and more angled, I can see where an open end wrench would be a better bet. With the stock exhaust manifold they are right there, only thing you may have to do is remove your condensor fan so that you can get a better angle on them

    yea it is after the dc header I cannot remember the way they were stock

    Yeah the DC id a def use a open end wrnech on, I noticed that Tuesday night when I put my header on. Stock they sit higher up and face straight forward, easy to get at after you remove the fan and maybe bend the heat shield a bit

    Thanks guys, a lil bit of pb blast and the socket came off in no time thanks. And i even hooked up the a/f gauge while i was at it
