    turbo a20

this is my first post so hello first of all. i just bought my first 3rd gen 89 lxi hatch 5 speed which i love. it has 160k miles on it though. i was wondering what kind of work i should do to the engine to sort of restore it to its maximum. i want to turbo later. i was thinking about the b20a swap but the a20at sounds more apealing to me. does anyone have any specs on what a turboed a20 would pushing? thanks any and all help is appreciated.

it all depends on how well its built...but you are looking at 190hp-200hp on low boost...look for seans threads...you will get an idea of what the A20 can and cannot do...welocme to the board...dont forget to search too

get a good manual (like haynes) and make sure you have the right tools for the job. It'll make your job a LOT easier and you'll be less likely to screw it up!

if you wanna go all out then talk to jhonny o about his 10sec. a20'ed 3g hatchie. it sucks that the search is down. I think stock internals should be able to handle around 10psi but i dunno because i cant remember what the compression ratio is stock. I know my celica with 9:3:1 compression handles 18psi up to 22psi on stock internals. 88turboaccord has a nice turbo setup. justin used to have a nice setup and sean is prolly the person to talk to. He has some stickies up here on performance check them out. WE finally have a 3geez member who admitted he used the search before posting!!! yay
