it is not supposed to though out air. it supposed to suck the air.
if it is throwing out the air you need to clean PCV valve. you don't have air circulating thought your engine. clean the valve and you should be good to go.
you don't need the filter. stock filter will do just fine. you may have to replace the stock filter (where the rubber hose connected to there is small filter inside).

lift the cover off your air filter and look to the right, there should be a little compartment that goes into some random tubes and shit, but yeah unscrew the two screws from it take it off, and its just the foam element, you can buy replacement elements at pep boys, have a great day

That's the pcv filter eric. The pcv valve is on the intake manifold. There's a little hose that looks like an upside down U on the intake manifold. On the drivers side of that hose is the pcv valve that is pushed into the intake manifold. It can be pulled out too if you want to change it.

Here are the 2 filters that I'm selling so you can customize your ride. They're both K&N The small breather filter is $15 and the bigger filter with heat shield is $25. Both come fully charged.

    Pm me if interested.

Well if you think I advertise these too much then I guess people make threads about these too much.

Mike, does that bigger filter w/ the heat shield also go where a normal sized breather would go? Because I don't think that your hood would close properly...

That's got to be the cleanest living DX I've ever seen.
