Will a +45 offset look funny?

Ok, rota subzeros in 16's are a +40 offset, and the 17's are +45. I emailed www.machiii.net and asked them if that difference would cause rubbing I got this as a reply

Is that true? Also if I lower my car about 1.5" will it then cause rubbing? Thanks guys

the higher the offset the closer the wheel comes to the suspension, which is good for lowered cars. Also, you will not rub. I had the rotas, they looked good but very played out.

I'm thinking about doing the same but getting some 16x7.5 or maybe 16x8. But the 45mm offset will help a lot if you want a 215 series tire.

but a 215 series makes for a large diameter tire, which makes your speedo be off even more, so I don't know if I'd be into that.

Not true in 16", your still real close to the oem rolling diameter if you go with 215/40-16 or even 215/45-16. BUT! 215's in 17", ohhhhhhhhh yeah, way way to tall. BTW, you only have one choice if your gonna run 18's 215/35-18.

Actually 45mm offset is a REQUIREMENT to run 215mm tread widths and not have rubbing issues in the rear.

And 215mm width tires match up with 7" wide rims. A 215mm tires section width is 7", theirfore going wider, serves no purpose other than making your hunt for rims allot harder since going wider than 7" is much rarer in 16" rim fitments.

NO, taller than oem. 205/40-17 is the proper plus size.
But that's not to say its really far off in height, it's 2.4% to tall.
At 60mph your really going 61.4mph Another way to look at it is it's like running 2.4% taller gearing. Sidenote, watch the weight of the wheel/tire combo, go to much heavier than the OEM combo and your ride and drive will be effected, not to mention acceleration issue's. Depends on your goals I guess.

I guess 16's are in my future then, they're like 15lbs without tire, and with those I think I can get closer to oem tire diameter

I run a 17 inch momo sport on the sifeys car with the 215's. It was a night and day difference in power output. The momos are 23 lbs each and the weight or the tire. Dont do it.
