    17" wheel insight needed

I got 17"'s this summer and put them on my car, took them off for winter. I was wondering if all of my steering problems came from the larger tires. I had a hole in my powersteering hose, and later I found out that I have to replace the rack. Could all of this stem from my adding the larger tires, thus adding pressure to the old OEM parts of my car . All answers are takin into critical consideration because I have no clues, only speculation.

if your front end is loose, or in need of repair, the heavier wheels with lower sidewall will fuck it up at a faster rate than 13's would, but if your car is tight, then it shouldnt be a problem

I thought it was tight, but it didn't turn out that way. I know it's older it was in great shape, until i added the bigger tires.
