    vacumm hose number 24?

hey guys, i dont know much about these hoses, i own an 86 EX accord sedan carb. The other day my car out of nowhere was really bad when it was idling in gear, it seems like it was gonna stall everytime i was at a stop light.
I took it to a mechanic and he found out one of the vacumm hoses broke
it was vacumm 24. He just pluged up the hole and the car runs fine again
but just wondering is it safe to just plug the hole? And what function does the Vacumm hose 24 do?

it is vacuum from your intake manifold to vacuum canister. when ever there is a vacuum lost from intake manifold you will have ruff idle. go to autoparts store and replace the broken hose.

it may effect because it is connected from the intake manifold to the vacuum canister through oneway valve.
drive for while, and if you don't see anything unusual leave it alone.
