    Tape deckk not working

well finally this forum is working for me . anyways heres my problem, i have two stock 1989 accord headunits both work using the radio , the presets work so its not a fuse, they just won't play any tapes at all , they also won't eject them.oh the reason i told i have two is because i don't think its mechanical. is there any electrical reason behind this? ps this is the best forum and the search function is awesome.

I would say get a new radio. The FIRST thing I did in my car was rip out the 4x15 watt speakers and tape deck. Hell I could not even hear it on the freeway with the windows cracked open.

It's probally a problem internal of the radio. If you have power and the radio works the tape player should also work. There are no wires to the radio for the tape player. More likely the belt is broke. Since you got two why not open one and see if it is broke. If you are handy you can replace it. Then again maybe just get a new radio. There are alot of decent head units out there that are very reasonable.
