I can. because I have to buy brand new bumpers first. that is going to be over 200 alone even with my Honda Discount. right now its cold as a mother fucker and I dont think i will be doing any painting tomorrow. we just got like a foot and half of snow! we just spent all night doing reverse donuts and throwing snow balls, and un suspecting walkers. (seriously why are you walking your dog at 12:30 in the morning) as far as paint goes I dont know what to do. I think black bumpers look nice. they already look nice with the primer. But I will see how this metal covers and try to save some for bumpers. the thing is with pearls, it is impossible to match them two times. and I dont think the guy gave me enough to do the bumpers. anyway i'll keep updating this!

Well, I am down here at the shop again. I am kinda at a stand still. I got so much going on I dont know what to do really. I have to do a lot of sanding and patch work. I was trying to swap the handles from an LX but I didnt realize you can swap the Key locks. the DX is much bigger. but i dont like the plastic handles and I dont have the key for the LX handles.
Use the LX handles then, and just get new door lock cylinders. They will come with new keys, and arent very expensive.

And I think you should try your hardest to paint the bumpers the same colour as the rest of the car, it would look 100 times better. And why would you need new bumpers? just primer and paint them.

that paint will bring the good looks out of the tails you have rather than the old color. and the wheels should look a lot better. right now it looks like you and I are doing the same crap to our cars but I'm not having a problem with paint sticking. Should look really good when it's all done!

What are you crazy, lately you need 4X4 to make it over the passes. Maybe you never noticed that traffic was backed up 15miles.

seeing as how much work he's doing to it right now, pulling fenders and painting door jams I'm sure he is going to.

well the last time mario painted it he didn't do the engine bay at all and I don't think he is doing it this time. There is a lot of shit that would have to be removed.

Actually the Orginal color of the car is The Burgandy Maroon Color and it really accents the Gun Metal well. Unfortunely I am having a lot of problems right now. I jammed everything, but I did not do under the hood of the engine bay. I dont think i got enough paint. and its kinda hard to just ask for more when it was just given to me. I mean Dupont is some of the most expensive shit you can buy.

I ran into a problem right now. all the primer that is on my car rattle can, and i guess the sealer coat is too strong and wrinkles up the enamel from the rattle can. so I have to go back and sand through two coats of primer to get back to the maroon color. I have a picture of it but I took it on Terrys camera and its too cold and snowy to go outside to his car. tomorrow should be a short day at the shop so I have most the after noon and all night to fix all the little small dings and dents and sand off all the primer. If all goes well I should be looking being done this weekend.

IF i had the time to pull the engine completely and clean the bay, I would paint it. but I dont have a week to set aside.

you can always paint it later man. it still looks awesome the way it is and unless you have a lot of problems then you dont have to worry about even pulling the hood release....except to change oil and stuff.

Ok well it took two nights of sanding but I think the car should be ready to go now. here is Delano helping me sand off primer, while I do some body work alont the door and trunk and hood.

this is after all the primer came off and the bondo work was sanded

    more weight reduction

Re-primers to cover bondo and repair some sand throughs.

and finally after another day of sanding the primer filler, i believe the car is ready to be sealed and painted.

I might have had this all done earlier had we not spent 4 hours at Pick N Pull, pulling a tranny and sway bars. so tomorrow I should be taping everything up and spraying it. hope all goes well

damn I wish i had a body kit to go with my car. Gun Metal on a body kit would look sick.

well it kinda depends on what colors you like. I can give you advice on some really cool colors. for instance if you like blue, check out the 98 Toyota Camry Night Shadow blue. it is a real sleek dark dark blue, with green and magenta pearl. it would kill on an angular car like this.

There was an OE colour for 84-89 Accords that is actually very similar to gun metal, it is called Graphite Grey. Very Nice IMO

Poor Delano you never gave him a DA sander. I would never sand a car with out one. So how about those snow pic? I have about 6" and still coming down hard.

    beginning the final process

right now I am not too happy with it. There are a lot of sand-thrus showing and I only had enough sealer to cover the car, not double over. I am some what of a perfectionist, but I am kinda screwed now because I dont have more time to work on it.

Next step, nib sand some of the dirt and cover some sand-thru marks. Start base coat of Gun Metal.
