Ok first, i am NOT A DEALER! i just got a whole lot of these little laptops in an oddball deal with someone who wanted my car, and i don't really have a use for more than 1 or 2.


as far as trades go, i could use:
a pcmcia or parralell port cd-rom *got it*
windows 95 on floppy *got it*
money
dvd-rw

they go as follows:

small, measuring 7.2'' wide x 10.7'' long x 1.5'' thick

i have 74 are complete with hard drives and ram. and a large number without hard drives and a smaller number with no hard drives or ram. i have around 150 keyboards, around 50 protective cases.

they are 486 dx2 50mhz laptops, they have touchscreens for little pens but i
have no pens, can be bought on ebay. they can run windows 3.1, or windows
95?. the screens are black & white. you can use any regular ps/2 keyboard(confirmed)
and serial mouse on it, or use the low power mini ps/2 keyboards i have available
below. they weigh about 2lb's with battery's. they have 2 pcmcia slots.

they have pcmcia ata hard drives!

No OS's on these, and other than using an external pcmcia card reader and loading stuff on the drive from that, i'm not sure how to load stuff on it, perhaps an external pcmcia floppy or cd-rom (i have a fujitsu floppy...).

laptop without hard drive but with ram:
laptop with 4mb ram(8mb total): 15$
laptop with 8mb ram(12mb total): 20$
laptop with 16mb ram (20mb total): 25$

add a 180mb hard drive for 7$

then i have low power keyboards
pic for them for 5$ each
and protective cases for 5$ each
and i have car chargers for 25$ each (i only have 5, and very rare)

does it have a audio out, it could be a cool MP3 player if can work audio, even in DOS based Audio Players.

you could fit 2 hours of music on em, but they have no AUDIO out, or USB or FIREWIRE.. they are basically useless to the general public... unless you do alot of NOTE taking... this would be great for like college kids that dont wanna buy a real laptop

damn to bad can't play audio, anyway i realize theyre kind of big to be mounted on the dash or were the cupholders are.

you could always get a pcmcia sound card... and i believe they could run windows 95, so you could slap a pcmcia modem or nic in there and use it for internet/email on the go... or a solitare machine the only ungradable things are the ram and hard drives, you can hook up a pcmcia cd-rom or floppy, etc... they wouldn't be much good for car pc's, except maybe as data logging machines, i saw a program out there now that works off a laptop and is a diagnostic program, you buy the cables and stuff and it'll plug into your cars computer, and work like the snap-on (or other brand) scan tools, these might be cool for that...

where the hell would you find a PCMCIA soundcard or PCMCIA anything these days...

ill keep an eye out around town.,. if i can find a network car adn sound card for decent cost, ill buy one.. how much HDD can you stuff in one of those??

well you can find them at any swapmeet, computer stores, pawn shops, ebay..... where can't you find pcmcia stuff? as far as hd's, you can fit as big as you can find in pcmcia form i suppose... i have a few with 260, 360 and 560mb hard drives here (they's mine! stay away!)

a quick search on ebay reveals them for 20$ used and the newer ones for 160$ brand new.

sorry not sellin the bigger hd's one, just the 180mb ones. for a 180mb hd 20mb ram with car charger and keyboard would be 68$ shipped, would do 60$ shipped, i have them for sale on a wireless workgroup newsgroup and those people are all over em, so they must have some sort of good use for them..

Do they have power supplies and do the batteries hold a charge?

This + Linux (WINDOWS BITES) + 802.11 = something I could use.

most battery's seem to charge up and hold, but for how long....i don't know, and yeah power supply's will be included until i run out.

i hated the 280zx, i love playing with stuff, so this gave me a whole lot of things to play with, which keeps me busy...

most will power up from the battery's but i don't know how long they will hold a charge... (might hold for 1minute, might hold for an hour)
