Head Reassembly - Tips?

I am ready to reassemble the head, after a failed head gasket.
Just wondering if anyone had any tips or precautions that I should take?

I like to grind off 3-4 head bolt heads to make Studs. Then use them to put on head as alginment studs. Simply lower head though the studs unto a new gasket real clean surface. Go to boneyard and get a few head bolts.
