    R.i.p

Today was the last for the best car I have ever owned. A few hours ago the cv joint broke. The wheel locked and threw me into a spin at 105 mph. The good news is that I was not hurt and neither was anyone else. The car jumped the median and took out 9 of those big traffic sign poles. All the poles hit on the driver side. I bent the frame, Broke the front and rear axles, destroyed both driver side doors, Broke three struts and the arms. I don't know yet how much damage was done underneath. I think it will cost more to fix than buy a new one. I think I might keep the motor. I put a lot of work in on that motor to get it to top out at 144 Mph. If anyone wants to sell a 89 lxi that has a solid body but blown motor let me know.

Please a moment of silence for one hell of a car.

I did not do as much to the car as you would think. I put in accel injectors, accel power coil, CAI (homemade), rebuilt the tranny ( It was getting fouled up and slowing me down), had oversized pistons put in, and put in a mod chip the my brother got from his friend. I don't know the name of the chip but it was all black. I also has 1.75" bent exhaust with a dynomax muffler. The car was a little slow off the line, but was like a rocket when it hit second gear. My brother also put in a external speedometer and oil temp gauge. Oh yeah I also have accel wires and iridium plugs. We tinkered with the timing.

I found 2 cars for sale that I am thinking of buying until I decided what to do with mine. One is a 88 maxima v6 with a ok body and good motor or a 90 jetta GLI 16v with a good body and motor. $1200 for the maxima and $1000 (maybe $800) for the jetta. I know that both are well built motors, but I can't decide what to buy. Does anyone know which one is easier to work on and find performance parts for? Any input in helpful thanks.

P.S. I looked under the hood of my car today and there is no damage to the motor. I will definitely keep it for a later engine swap.

    glad to hear youre ok

as for the two cars...i dont really like either....but the maxima i would guess would lean more towards performance..and the jetta would be more comfort and style..id get the jetta
