Talking Mesh Grille Insert Now Painted Red

well, my mesh grille insert was getting corroded. it still looked cool. well, it was like the easiest thing i could think of to do to take up some of my time. i was board as hell tonight! still havent gotten the 3gee fixed(needs water pump replaced). im not driving it risking it to mess up. anyway, i sanded all the corrosion off and painted it red. i had been planning to do this for a while, but have been lazy. lol. i'm letting the paint dry better in the house because the humidity is so damn high outside. if i were to try drying the car off, it basicly wouldnt get dry. anyway, heres a couple of pix. i'll take some pix when i put it back on the car.

i unscrewed the chrome part of the grille and sandwiched the mesh between it. doesnt push the chrome part out too much if you do it just right. i had to trim several times to get it perfect. ive had it done for a while, yesterday decided to paint it.

the bumper grille would look pretty sweet with red mesh in it. no, i didnt use the APC brand grille mesh. that i felt was a waste of money, considering its about $40 when i looked. i got this stuff at Home Depot in a big ass sheet. it was too big to fit into the car without folding it in half.......that should give you an idea of how big it was. anyway, it was about $4 for the sheet. i painted it with red engine paint. im going to go take a pic of it now.

Did the cover fall off the right hand side bumper light, or is that intentional? lol. HOW MUCHCHROME CAN YOU PUT IN ONE 3G? Why don't we ask this guy right here, lol, jk. It looks like you painted the front end trim with chrome paint, or is it just the angle i am lookin' at it in? Nice job, I don't think it will work with the '88-'89 models, since they don't have the squared chrome grille, unless we took the grill off of a '86-'87 model, and put it on the newer models, I don't know if it would fit, but that's my two bits...

if sure you could make it work on the 88-89 one piece grille.
