Which Tires?

We just got our first good snow since I got back to NE.... And unfortunately I found out alittle late that all 4 tires are completely bald.... I have no traction what-so-ever.... I was curious, What would you guys recomend for stock rims... I need something with good traction in snow... BUT, I do not want to sacrifice performance and handling during nice conditions.....

I've been considering...

Dunlop SP Sport A2
Yokohama Avid H4
Bridgestone Turanza LS-H
Kumho Ecsta HP4 716
or
Pirelli P6000 Sport Veloce

Any feed back is greatly appreciated

Get 4 snow studded tires. They work awesome in the snow and ice.

I know from experience the Yokohamma's and the Pirelli's will do pretty shitty in the snow.

Last year I had bridgestones and they were horrid, this year I am running general exclaims($65 a piece mounted and balanced) and they are good for cornering(40K mi. tire) and excellent in the snow. I know these aren't the ones on your list, but i figured it might help. The exclaims are also great in the rain, they hydroplane very little compared to other car tires I have driven.

i got yokohama yk420's and they seem to hold up well in the snow but they hydroplane hella in the water and rain, but damn they are sticky on dry!

Get Either toyo z800 ultras siped, or get Kumho 793's siped, both are good for the stock look, the 793 is good for snow, but it looks like crap, and has a horrible run time. I would recomend the toyo, but it is not great in the snow, even when siped. But, it is the best tire we carrie at schwab's for all around driving . That's the best I can do

How would my 205/40 Kumho Ecsta's perform if I siped them? In the Winter and Summer?

i have bridgestone blizzaks on the front in my car and BF Goodrich Comp T/A's in the rear...the t/as are ok..but arent meant for snow..but the blizzaks are great..and i tend to drive semi retarded when the snow hits the grounmd...ebrake sliding and donuting every chance i get..and they hold up great..plus they arent bad in the dry weather too..id go with those

michelin arctic alpin's are good too if you are looking for something less pricey but not cheap

I've been using the Dunlop Sport A2s for about 18 months. They've been wearing out much faster that expected, but I have autocrossed them several times. They have been able to take any amount of rain very well, but I haven't had to try them in the snow.
