    can strut towers be replaced?

can any body tell me if the front strut towers can be replaced ? i found a 89 sei that i was going to use for parts but the only thing wrong with it is the left front sturt tower is rusting and the upper control arm has pulled out.
if it can be fixed i would rather drive it!

It may be possible. Thats something you need to go to a reputible body shop to have done the right way.

Are you talking about this part.... the strut mount?

They are about $13 at NOPI. So is there just the parts that are rusting or is it the actually structure of the car cause that will have to be done at a shop unless you can do it at home.

no it is the part of the car where a the upper control arm mounts. I do have a welder but was more wondering if anybody had done it and is the piece is available or should i just cut it from mine other one.

You should be ok with mig. I would not trust my life to a tig. I guess you could use a plasma cutter and cut one out. You should look in the yellow pages for a autobody wholeseller to see if that part is available. Good luck, if you screw it up its your life.

damn it pretty spendy. Give it a try and weld it up with a peice of steel and drill holes for the mount.

if i were you, i would pass on this project. I dont wanna mess with the cutting and welding another piece of suspension part. Even a millimeter off would fuck things up on ur suspension. Ur better off looking for another car once u fix this thing and get another one with the money. But its a risk you are gonna take cause this is a major job and needs precision and u might wanna print out the frame repair chart from Paul's website. its under Body page 21-106
