How to run power to stereo??????

My friend has a 86 Honda Accord DX and he has the power and ground running to the battery from the firewall. He has the wires zip tied to the gas line(he knows stupid idea) into the rubber gaurment right under the master cylinder. I think it is really tacky hooked up to the battery. As I was reading through threads I seen something about people have they're stereo pluged into the 12V spaces in the fuse box under the hood.
I was wondering If anyone could tell me how to do that. Or if it is a good idea or not or if there is a better place to run it.
    Thanx

Well tell him to run it on the passenger side in the rubber gromet ahead of the passenger. Duh, his battery is on that side, so why not run it on that side.

As for running it to the fuse box I don't know. I am curious myself.

    you can't.
the stock wirring will not hold the power you need to run the amps. there is a chance you will mess up the stock wirring and damage your car.
just run the wire from the battery, buy yourself battery clamps. make sure they are nice ones. they will make the setup look a hole lot cleaner and better.
run the wire through the firewall on the passenger side. you have two options. if your AC is not working you can remove the condensation tube and run the wire through that hole. the second choice you have is to drill the hole next to the condensation tube and run the wire that way.
run the wire under the carpet.
when you get the power wire to the amp, use some quality connectors on the wire to connect to the amp. i went to local audio store and bought $50 worth of gold plated connectors. they make the hole thing look like it was done by a pro.

I have my power going to the fuse box in the engine bay. I placed it on one of the open screws there supplying 12V...no electricity drop but i only have 200w because of the weak ass stock alternator

Your best bet is to go to wal-mart or some store you can get a plug that connects to your HU and it will just plug right into the stock plug and should give you everything you need

Lets use my crazy mad drawing skills and explain this right, connect the red power wire to the battery, and run it under the carpet, along the edge of the car to the loaciton of the amp, on the oppsite side of the car, run the RCA and remote turn on wires, and hook them all onto the amp. Run the ground off the amp, make sure the ground cable is less than 18 inches long (not exactly srue why).
