i installed an oil pressure gauge like a week ago, my question is when i first start the car, the pressure is 60-65 psi, and when im cruising, its aroun 40-45 psi, and warmed up and stoped, 20-25 psi. are these around what it should be?

Yep,exactly what mine says.
I just looked it up in the service manual.
Idle should be 14 psi minimum
3,000 RPM should be at 56-65 psi
It looks like you are doing ok.

So does, this mean our engines are 100% good?
I can't make a guarentee on an engine I have not and never will see.Originally Posted by BITESIZE
If you keep up on all the small stuff and it runs strong you should have nothing to worry about.
According to the manual your oil system is doing just fine. Just be sure to fix any leaks that pop up and change the oil every 3,000 miles and you will be allright.

Sounds like she's going strong then........for 287,000 miles!
thanx guys, is there any other gauges that i could use to monitor stuff thats important like that? ive seen like volt meters and stuff, but how important are these?

as your engine gets warmer it heats the oil and it gets thinner. I would bet this is the reason you see a drop in pressure when the engine is hot!
You can get the following gauges, probably a few more.
Volt meter
Air/Fuel ratio
Fuel pressure
Water Temp
Vacuum gauge
Exaughst Temp
Basic temp gauge with probes to measure things like cylinder head or intake air
What you go with depends on how concerned with the level of tuning.
