My '88 Dual Weber DCOE LX - $1000

I'm selling my Twin Weber DCOE powered 88 Accord LX for $1000. Why? I have three cars now (93 Maxima SE and 71 Porsche 914 are my other two) and one has to go. The Accord has the least long-term value for me.

The engine has been well cared for and runs strongly. The body and interior are in fair condition.

I've put a lot of love and a decent amount of mods into my car. You get it all. Here's what I ask in return: $1000. Don't ask me to part it out. If you're interested in the DCOEs, then buy the whole car and part it out yourself - you'll end up the winner that way. I am in Columbus, OH.

NO - I will not part out the car in any manner. Do not ask.

1988 Accord LX with 176k miles
    Installed:
    • Dual Weber DCOE conversion with 34mm chokes (four 30mm also included). This conversion setup is worth $500-700, the custom manifold is worth $250.
    • Carbon Fiber Hood with Hoodpins
    • 4 15" Civic Steels with hubcaps.
    • 195-55-15 Matador Aquilla Tires (very little wear, summer only).
    • Rebuilt (by me) Holley Blue fuel pump with regulator.
    • Reverse glow gauges.
    • Fuel pressure guage.
    • Pacesetter steel headers.
    • Accel SuperStock coil.
    • Magnecor wires.
    • Custom 2.5 in exhaust piping with dual outlet muffler.
    • 2 inline clear view fuel filters (one just before the pump, one just before the carbs)

    Not installed but included:
    • LXi front and rear swaybars.
    • JDM 3rd Gen Accord clock (yeah, a stupid buy on my part).
    • *Surprise* items found deep within my garage.

Work done to the car in last year:
    • New NGK plugs.
    • New dist cap and rotor.
    • Used dist installed.
    • New starter.
    • New water pump.
    • Regular oil changes using semi-synth oil and Bosch filters.
    • Clutch is 2 years old.
    • The AC and power steering have been removed.

Car has normal rust (see pics below) and the rear passenger's 1/4 panel has been repaired from an accident. The repair job (done before I obtained the car) is not great, but it works. I tore the clock out hoping to put in the JDM clock I won on Ebay. You get the clock, uninstalled, with the car.

I also have 14" Yokohamas with very little wear on stock alloys that I will include for an extra $100.

If someone will post them for me, I have several pictures.

It looks a little different, that's all. It was dumb for me to buy it.

On another note, it looks as though I've sold the car. I haven't received a check yet, but a guy moving to the mainland from Hawaii just called me. After checking out the car in my Autotrader ad (click here) he is sending me a check for the car without first seeing it. Crazy, I just posted the ad one hour ago.

By the way, if you wanna see pics of the car, check the Autotrader link above.

I will accept backup offers in case this deal falls through, as well.

Make sure that you allow the check to clear before you release the car to any shipping company. There is a huge scam going on right now where the buyer asks no questions about the car, sends you a check for more than the amount of purchase and asks you to return the balance. Well after it is all said and done, the check is a phony, you lose your car, and you are out however much money you now owe the bank for a bounced check.

Please tell me that this is not the situation that you are in.

I've heard of that scam, too. I've checked the buyer out and he's legit. But, like I said, until I receive his check and it clears, I'll take a back up offer in case things don't work out.

No one wants to make a backup offer in case the first falls through? You can see the car here in my Autotrader ad (click here)

good luck on the car, any pix? anyway, that scam has gone on for years. not just for cars, but for most other things like other stuff you can ship, also homes, etc. it is done with getting papers saying you are the owner, other ways to do that also.

It seems like the guy who made the original offer is coming through. I've received his check (for the full amount and no more) and I'm picking him up at the airport on Wednesday. His check has already cleared, too. If for some odd reason things don't work out, I will email you Sean!
