yea i owned a 84 accord lx sedan performance wise i would say it was "decent" not as good as the as say a 86-89 accord carb i mean the 2nd gen accord had a 1.8-liter engine and 86hp so not a lot to bargain with but let me tell u that car was semi powerfull for a 84

Back in high school one of my buddies drove an 85 LX and he used to spank me in my 82 Corolla. He can still spank me any day today because he now drives an S2000.

my 83 with the 1.6 and missing 4th gear was STILL faster than my buddys early 80's mustang with the 2.3 litre. stupid thing redlined at like 4.5 grand, i could do 70 kph in first gear.

I own an 84 LX right now (carb) it's pretty slow. Get spanked by any 90's and newer Civic. I got beat by a 1990 1.5liter Tercel with a 4 speed manual tranny in it. I was beat by a Tracer... I can't recall ever winning... Although I did race a guy in one of those old boxy Civic Si hatches on the freeway and spanked him from 60. Guess its just from stop its slow.
