    Volume Question: Alpine--> Xplod

    HU- Alpine CDM9803 50w x4 output
    Speakers- Xplod 6.5 3-ways 50w output 200w input
    the head unit goes up to 36, which i assume means 50w...
    will it hurt either if i go all the way up to 36? maybe its because im used to the stock system with 15w but the 50watts seems super loud even at like 18... can the Xplods handle all the power without damage... and can the Head unit handle it without friing...?

    The head unit will be fine, but I dont know about the speakers, I think you might hear some popping noises at that peak volume but you never know. I have a CDA9813 deck, and even with my stock bose speakers I can almost turn it up all the way, so I would hope you Xplods would be fine.

    sorry wally, gotta disagree there

    they're new p-series subs...the pentagon shaped ones are pretty decent. Good entry level stuff. i've had my 12" 1200w (~350rms) for almost a year now and its great. it hasn't cracked or blown and i crank it up regularly. however they're OLDER explod stuff sucked.

    No way would it be possible. If you has some amp you would ba able to turn up the volume more but even with my infinity speaks I might go up to 16 and thats it.
    I'm your local R&D nut. Fabracting, welding, tuning and breaking my stuff so you don't have to.
