B series Motor mounts wanted(in process)

What's crackalackin friends. I am looking for motor mounts for my 87 honda accord LX SEdan carburated automatic. The question I have is whether or not there are more places to buy motor mounts from other than "Place Racing"? they want 6 hundred something and I was wandering if there are any cheaper motor mount kits. Also I was wandering what would be the cheapest B series swap that give me plenty of get up, but not have to wind the rpmz hella high, and any pointers or tips on changing over my automatic to a manual. and For my final question and request. I live in cali, will I be able to drive my car without a fear of the 50 giving me a ticket? would a B series engine pass smog in my car? could I pass by a referee? Any comments would be greatly appreciated sincerely Goldmember....Fasha

Being that you're from here, Cal, don't even think about passing smog legally. You can pass smog if you can find someone to hook you up. The best advice I could give you is don't bother dumping all that money into your car. There's a lot of conversion that need to be done in order for you to have a B-Series motor in your car. But before some other members bash on you, the one other advice I have is do a search and if you can't find anything then look in the motorswap section. You'll find answers there regarding motorswaps. But yeah, here in Cal, it's hard to pass smog when you swap. Good luck.

the 5 speed swap is relativelty easy if you know how things work and came apart and go together. I took my time and ran into a few lttle issues but it wasnt so much hadr as it was time consuming. Theres lots of info about those questions on the board. Ive been here for about 3 years and Im still trying to read all the posts I missed from before i got here. Its a great board with pretty cool people.

The only place that Ive seen for the mounts is place racing but if your good with a welder and and an knowledgable person you can take the engine that your palanning and roungh mount it in your car (being held wit hte engine hoist) and fabricate mounts for it yourself. Its really not very hard but not for the beginner either. We have to do that alot for out little 1200 civics. Works everytime though.
