Exclamation Found A New-ish Weber At The Junkyard!

i was over at the junkyard on saturday and had a funny feeling to look under the hood of a late 80's tercel. well, atop the intake mannifold sat a weber carburator. its the 32 36 DGEV! its the one that will go onto my accord, with the correct adaptor. anyway, i asked how much they wanted if i took it off and they said they want to crank over that tercel before they take it off. this is pretty rare to find something this good at that junkyard. i wont give them more than $100 if its in good condition. i looked in the barrel and it had no black build up, it actually looked brand new. didnt look at the rest of that car so i dont know why it would be junked. so, what do y'all think. should i offer them $100 if their price is higher? i have been planning around getting a new weber anyway.

    .30 cents on the dollar.

Thats what you should offer. Fifteen if you can get to take it. Theres no guarantee.
    Hope this helps, LOL

when we went to get some really nice escort rims, which were $100, i asked them about the carb again. they told me after they see if the engine runs they will sell it to me! ok, i said here i would give them like $100, didnt tell them that just y'all. ok, maybe i should go down on price? i mean the whole kit would cost near $400. i say maybe i should start really low, $30? i will try anything to get it! ok maybe not. we looked at it and man that thing looks clean like brand new!

Almost every ford 4cyl made in the 70's comes with a 32/36 stock. You can get one off a 75 pinto for like $35. If you look in the bowl where the gas jets are you will see it says "holley weber" stamped on the inside. The re-build kit is about $20-25 at most auto parts stores and most vw shops sell the nice chrome air cleaners for $15. At my local "pull your part" there is a pile of 32/36's when I need one I just go through them and find the nicest one.

You could bring a back pack and then have your tools in your bag and if they ask just tell them you have your tools in there. And then get the carb and then put the carb under the tools and just tell them when you're walking out you didn't find anything you liked and maybe ask if they know if they're getting anymore hondas in so you will know when to come back.

I got mine used for $75... well I got 2 used for $150 but someone got my other one already.

Please don't chuck the carb... it's beefy but still fragile.

yeah, everyone tells me take it off and throw it over the fence, but there is a busy road there and dont know how that would go. i usually wear baggy pants and have put stuff i jacked in there. it was little shit though. anyway, im not one to steal things other than emblems and stuff of that nature. i will probley start at $30 like y'all said. and go up from there. i will probley go back either this week if i have time or the week end. i'll have to look up if the adapter thingy is the same. i think this will make a nice upgrade dont y'all? my friend keeps telling me to get a new exhaust system, but i wanna wait because i can get that anytime, this weber isnt something i will find too often. and yeah, the old fords have them but there arent many with engines. this is the performance one so its worth it i think. oh yeah, lucky me i have an automatic. so i will need to fab up some kind of thing with the tranny right?
