It just pulls off.
is your rad full?
if it isnt, run it up to temp, and keep filling it till the reserve gets some coolant...
if the rad is full, thats all that matters

Make sure you bleed the system accordingly.
it twists off just like a bottle. Its plastic, so if it hasn't been opend in a long time, it could be very hard to open and you may end up breaking it. Try to be gentle with it.
just make sure ur radiator is full and u'll be fine.... my 'reserve' tank doesn't have a cap so the water keep evaporating and my car is fine

thats not a reserve, its an overflow. you fill the radiator.
still miss mine . . .
