    Girfriends car is strange..

    Okay, so some might remember me asking aboot this car a while ago, some might not. Anyway, she bought the 89 Accord and its been really good to her so far.. A little tough on cold starts in this shitty Candian winter, but no biggie.

    The other night she was driving home from work and all of the sudden the car just stopped going.. The said the tach just dropped to zero, and pressing the gas didn't do anything. So, she pulled over and shut the car off.... Tried it again about 10 minutes later and it worked perfectly fine.

    Anyone have any ideas what it could be? The car didn't stall or anything, but the tach dropped to 0, and pressing the gas woudln't do a thing. And now the car's running fine.

    Its carbed if that might help...



    Any info would be greatly appriciated.

    Its is ignition related otherwise the tack would still work.

    Yes, its my EF.

    87Hybrid -Thats what I figured.. At first when she called me I had assumed something broke, and it would be easy to figure out, then I asked if it actually stalled and/or was making any weird noises and she replied no.. So I told her to just try starting it and tell me what it does.. Its started fine and she continued her 100km commute home perfectly fine.

    Any ideas as to what could cause this in particular?

    Your ignition switch is going bad. Try asking these kind of questions in the "Technical' You will get more responses.

    Knock-offs.. Its an EF, I'm don't have the money for Mugens, nor would I waste some on a 13 year old car.
