    Question What else?

I'm in the process of replacing the 5-speed tranny on my '89 LXi. Got one from the junk yard and am ready to put it in. I'm planning on changing the clutch (got the ol' $99 Exedy from e-bay) and resurfacing the flywheel. I'm also going to replace the rear main seal, drive axel seals and ball joints while I'm at it. Is there anything else I should do while I have it out?

    Tie rods

Thses are a good thing to replace if they look worn, rack dust boots. Oil filter base seal, oil pan gasket since you have most of this stuff off anyway good idea just to replace it if its been awhile.
    Hope this helps. LOL

I don't think I'm going to mess with the engine mounts, but NSWST8, thanks for the ideas. Yeah, the oil filter base seal and oil pan gasket would be good to replace while I'm at it. What are the rack dust boots you refer to?
    Thanks again.

LOL. Yeah, thanks. Shep, I'm just swapping a new (junkyard) tranny for the one I have in there now. Cheaper than rebuilding. Same 5-speed. But thanks.
