For Those Of You Removing Your EGR!

I have a few PGM-FI A20 heads that dont have the EGR option even available. If someone wantes me to look for more I can do that. There are a few ludes in the junkyards here and NONE of them have EGR valves, tubes or even the casted piece on the side of the intake.

I also have a few extra intakes I can part with too if someone wants to do a swap!

I'm in Ottawa Ontario in case anyone is wondering!

I wonder if the ECU's from those cars would work well in a USDM model (after removing the EGR).

    What?
Well I removed all my emission crap and all I have is the MAP sensor.
So there is the canadian version lude that dosen't have the EGR option. I'am I reading this right; well that should work, they are both A20 but it won't pass emissions here in the US.

there was a version on A20A4 engine with no EGR. it only had 4 vacuum lines.
i think Paul from Russia used to have that setup.
if you look at his manual on page 9-something, you will find intake manifold with no EGR. and if you look farther you will find vacuum setup, and it only has 4 lines for manual tranny. Auto tranny had 5 vacuum lines for non emission version.

Damn thats sweet, but would it pass emission here in the US? I might want to get one of those ECU's.

You guys want to know the easiest way to do this? Take the egr gasket that goes between the tube and the intake manifold, trace it onto a piece of sheetmetal, cut out the shape without the hole, and install it in place of the gasket with some silicone. This is how I did it on my car back when I had the egr tube. (Now I don't have the tube at all, because of my turbosytem) This way the computer won't show any error codes, or trigger the failsafe mode (1500 rpm idle). By the way, I don't think it was worth doing, I couldn't even tell any difference...

You mean where the tube connects to the EGR unit or where the unit connects to the intake manifold???

He is talking about the pipe not the valve.

None of the B20A/A20A engines have a EGR hole ON the head. It's all on the intake manifold....
