    TuneUp

    Ok guys next week I am getting a complete Tune-Up done to my 88 accord Hb next week. I'm having them replace my plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotary cap, air filter, oil, oil filter and having my carb adjusted. It's gonna run me about $350 when all is said and done. What are some things I should ask them to do other than the obvious because I am not sure when the last time this car has been tuned.

    Plugs= $12
    Wires= $30
    Distributor Cap and rotor $15
    Air Filter $5
    Oil + Filter $15
    Adjusting the carb $Free with a screwdriver
    PCV Valve $3

    It will take you less than an hour.
    If you have any questions on how to do it feel free to ask.

    The questions I would have would be adjusting the carb both cold start and regular. Also PCV valve adjustment. My friend can show me how to do it. That would sure save me some money though I do plan on using MSD Distributor Cap and rotor, Bosch platinum plugs, a good set of plug wires so it'll probably cost a bit more than $75 bucks. The main question is how to adjust the cold start for my carb and what RPM it should run and and what to do from there on adjusting for regular use. Thanx.

    Adjusting the carb is just trial and error, there is an excelent post in the howto section on that.

    You don't adjust a pcv valve, you just replace it.

    A MSD coil is a good idea, but they do not make a cap and rotor for our cars.

    If you want Bosh platniums get the +4 model, they rock.

    MSD doesn't make distributor cap and rotor for our motor. you will have to buy generic or Honda from dealer.

    luckly caps and rotors are not really performance parts that you can upgrade.
