Question To buy or not to buy...

I have two 12" Audiobahn subs that push 2400 watts a piece and i need to buy an amp that will push both of them. I saw a 2400 watt legacy amp for $144, but im pretty sure its too good to be true. But i heard a 1000 watt legacy amp pushin 2 punch 15" and it hit pretty hard. Even if the amp doesnt push 2400 watts, do u think that it would push enough to power one of the speakers? And if thats the case, should i get two of them? Or should I get another amp? If so, what kind should i get?

save the 288 and get a pair of Profile California 600M's

    http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/profile.html

find the CA600M and order 2 of them..

i am assuming that your subs are dual 2 ohm VC's cuz most 1200WRMS subs would be..

if they are dual 4 ohm voice coils, grab a single CA1200 of the ZEB and run each sub at 2 ohms off each channel...

Now when you say your subs are 2400 watts, is that RMS?... If so, go for an Audison SRx SPL amp. Pushes 2000 Watts RMS at 4 ohms i beleive, and it is hand made in italy. Amazing amp, and it would make your subs POUND!

here is audison's site; www.audison.com but those new amps are not on there yet because they are brand new.

the speakers push 1200w RMS (model AW1206T). im not feelin Profile too much. I have a pair of their 6.5" speakers and they dont sound too good. i need to check the specs on the speakers to c if they are 2 or 4 ohm. i might give those profile amps a try though.

yah.. get that 1200 watt 2 channel.. i guarentee that its a great amp... my buddie is running a Profile California 600M and its LOUD.... i didnt think it would be soo loud... that 1200 watt amp was 2 times the power.. so i think it should pound NICE... you'll definetly need a rewound alternator and a 2 farad capacitor for this system.. so thats another 250 bucks or so on top of the amp... when you want to go big, you need to buy lots of other shit

tarantulas are VERY EXPENSIVE and take MASSIVE amounts of current to run but are excellent amps, but i think way out of our league, lower model soundstreams are just gorgeous, like the 1002. You guys should also look at HiFonics amps, PPi, Cadence (A7HC and Ultradrive Z) etc .As for cheaper amps, ive ran Profiles before and they are very good for the money, but for Lanzar the only one i can reccomend is the 1200d, all the other ones suck. Just stay out of Legacy/pyramid etc and get some better stuff, youll thank yourself later.

because they prob. didn't kow how to wire em....you can easily fry a $1000 amp if your wiring screwed up. I fried two of my good amps back when I was tenager hooking wire in every direction possible but after lil research and few more installations...now I never go wrong

nah these guys were seasoned car audio freaks... they had it wired up right and also all the crossovers and tuning was correct (ie, the gains were not maxed out... it was setup right) one lasted 3 months, the other lasted 1 night. The one kid also had blown some AW1200xs in a ported with an Earthquake PHD2 Shredder at 1 ohm (THATS ALMOST 3KW!!!!) but that is a ton of power so i dont think it was the subs' fault.

Well I know for one is not to have a set up that uses an ohm rating lower than what the amp can handle and also make sure the amp is more powerful than the subs or the subs will just drain the amp until it fails permanently from overheating. etc. IMO I rather blow the subs than the amp.
