Angry need help!! fuel gauge is screwy

ok guys, I have this problem with the new accord.. seems to be when I fill the tank, it looks full on the guage, and then it drops and starts to read empty, then "floats" while I am driving...

so my question would be, where should I look first, the float in the tank, or the gauge in the dash?

let me know, this is becoming an irratating factor.

    thanks in advance

i would start with the float. what type of sender do our cars have, i'd check that too if it's some type of electrical relay.
