just to add to that article, if you want to know when your tires were made just look at the last 3-4 digits on the DOT. for example if the last 3 digits are 159 then your tire was made in the fifteen week of 1999. it is possible it could of been made in 1989 depending on how old it looks.15 for the week and 9 meaning 99 or 89.
