I have an 86 lx-i that the automatic tranny just went out in. My ex was driving it and it just stopped going now it goes when it is cold but when it heats up the tranny slips and eventualy there is no movement at all. any help on this would be appreciated.
look around at your local junk yards. Youll need to replace it. There's no fixing em once they're gone. You could have it rebuilt, but it would just be cheaper to replace it.

Nothing else try some Lucas ATF fix in it maybe it will hold up long enough to get yopu by. its by no means a permanent fix but I've seen it in temp fix situations
where are u at skillz? i got a auto tranny from a 89 lxi. its shifts great and all the gears clicked in the way they should. im tryign to get it out of my shed, i only want 100. if you are close i woudl meet you somewhere to give it to you. pm me.
I have a broke 5 speed you can have for free, might offset the cost of buying a used one to rebuilt it.
