"new" seats in the LX-i today

Well, as you know I have a set of leather seats to go in the LX-i...They just need to be re-dyed blue. In the meantime, I re-dyed the cloth seats in the car today and they look brand new...I cleaned them first with a Shark steam cleaner and after they were dry, sprayed the blue dye on them...while the seats were out I steam cleaned the carpet and back seat area. I also simple greened all the plastic and center console area (the cassette tape holder was nasty.
The dye was fast drying and it covered any stains that would not come out with heat and steam. After the dye was dry, I took a soft nylon brush and brushed any dye that did not adhere to the seats so, it won't get all over my clothes. Brushing also helped to soften the fabric again because it was kind of stiff after applying the dye...my only advice is to use several light coats...I sprayed to heavy in a few areas and thats why I had to brush it out...They look brand new and match the interior almost perfectly.

yeah, thats definately a difference. looks like one new seat and one original faded one! what dye did you use? on mine i used duplicolor vinal/fabric dye. yeah, it was kinda stiff after spraying them. i'd reccomend brushing the fabric with a semi stiff brush after each coat.

I used the spray leather/vinyl/carpet/fabric dye by VHT. I got it from Jegs for $6.99...I just ordered 8 more cans and I will be doing the two leather seats and leather arm rest this coming weeknd if the weather allows...I am stoked about getting the leather seats in the car. I still need a leather back seat...the one in the wrecked SE-i was all ripped up.

Yeah if you bought enough of it! LOL...I like it better than Duplicolor's interior and fabric dye.
