    Cheap but effective upgrade

I have approxiamately $200 to spend on my 88 Lxi and I was wondering what I should do to increase performance. Now, I know I could put a cold air intake on it or something like that, but I was looking for something that would give a bit me a bit more horsepower. Any help would be great. Oh, and I'd be willing to pay more than $200 if it would mean signifigantly more power.

You could get your camshaft reground. This would be around 10 to 15% increase in power.

    You could get a 4 2 1 header

    You could get a CAI

You could get a cat back exhaust and a nice flowing muffler and also gut the cat

hmm...... make your own CAI and save up a bit more for a good set of headers and a decent exhaust.

I wouldn't suggest Pacesetter headers since if took the time to read and search the board, you'd realize how crappy their headers are... just save up and wait for the Lightspeed headers or buy a DC Sports one if you can find it.

if you cant afford a $350 DC Sports header, get a catback exhaust installed and you'll notice a good increase in power. Then go on ebay and get yourself a $30 CAI for a 94-97 accord and you're good to go.

What other parts would be interchangeable from the new GENS of Accords? I have seen a shit load of parts for Accord 90+ but nothing for the 3rd GEN. I am looking to buy a CAI.

    cai

all u need to do is ditch all the stock intake piping, rocker cover breather filter, then by a pretty big cone filter a half descent one K&N or green filter with centre top intake a well, then buy some hosing and experiment with length, try short pipe, medium length, long length or even better make up a box tongo around filter then run a ram air scoop with piping directly into filter/housing.
S&S headers make good quality headers too and you can buy heat painted or ceramic coated.
