What kind of power is he hoping to get outta of the B20A? And how come he hasn't tried one in his drag car? I think for all out power the A20 has got some good things going for it be interesting if he would maybe hold a forum on engines just to find out what kinda stuff he's getting upto!! Maybe share some knowledge!!
And JDM86 you'll never be quicker than me ;0)
will see about that rjudgy im going to be the fastest b20a on earth and i will be putiin down 350 at the flywheel on na motor no nitrous what so eva i will be way fater than u paeco is buildin my motor as we speak and they promise 350 with dyno sheets![]()

i will! As i already wrote, he doesn't use the dual carb anymore. Is running a custom ITB. You'll see when i'll post some pics this summer.Originally Posted by b20a86lude
rjudgey: he's not interested into the b20a world for a few reason, The first one, they are TOO hard to find. The second, it'S TOO hard to rebuild it as he want when he want 'cause of the gasket kit. Third, the a20a cost less than 100$cdn in the junk yard and trust me, he need to have 4 to 5 spare engines cause they blow so many times.

i wanna see jason budd and johnny o. race each other
Yep good reasons same reason why i concentrate on my A20's too, but i have quite a nice collection of B20A spares so i might look a little into upgrading these!!
Jdm86 are you building a pure track race car or is this 340bhp beast going to be for the road? Not being funny but over here full on engine's are U.K specialities and we have people making 2.0l and 3.0l engines using Bike heads from Yamaha R1's with 40valves and V8 blocks that put down 300bhp in a an allready highly tuned package, also Suzuki Hayabusa heads with 3.0l block put down 350-400bhp and these are dedicated track engines, even the best 2.0litre 16 valve engines from Cosworth struggle to pull much more than 260bhp and even Hondas own K20A neepds a supercharger for outputs of more than 300bhp to still keep it driveable and reliable.
Mugen's own B20A for the race series they were in the mid eighties put down 210bhp with a 21mm restrictor plate so de-restricted would most likely produce 275-300bhp but would be totally undriveable on the road? Same for Kings Motorsport 2G lude race engine which had 340bhp would be totally undriveable on road as well as needing a re-build regularily.
I've looked at the B20A and started some R&D on the heads, with a bore increase of 1mm, and some High CR ratio pistons, with some really good headwork with custom 35mm inlet valves and 30mm exhaust valves, custom header and exhaust system, 50-55mm Taper Bore ITB's with custom ECU maybe even twin injectors and seriously long intake trumpets, set of custom made cams with say a 285-295 degree duration and .450-.475 lift you'd be really lucky to hit 250-275bhp and will just about be driveable on the road but whether it would pass emission laws is another thing!!
Would be nice to see a another fully built B20A on the road when do you think you'll have it up and running by?
Another fully built B20A? Does anyone have a fully built B20A on the road at the moment?
jdmB20A and EdmB20A2/A8 with wild cams, ITR pistons, Jenvey ITB, P&P head, custom cam gears, DTA ECU (or some other) free flow exhaust and header, and some dyno tunning could make 230-240hp N/A reliably and streetable...
Carotman's car is very near to that level, he missed only the ITB kit, stand alone ECU
and free flow header-exhaust.
I just find this company make some nice spec cams for the B20A, but i don't know if rjudgey, thegreatdane, or somebody else has any feedback about this company???:

As you see the part number for B18A and B20A is the same......................these two engines have same cams as RobT5580 said, when he measured the two cams, some months before.....

i've already posted before about the b18b cam into the b20a. It's what i'm using, but they are customs.

Yes L3G10N, sorry, I forget that you have done a lot of research about B20A cams when you were rebuilding your B20A.....
Probably then, we could use also Crower and Crane performance cams for B20A
N/A tunning?

ACCORD 3G RUNS FOR EVER
yes you can use Crane or Crower cam for the b20a. The important thing is that they need to be for B18B engine and you'll need to mod 'em a bit cause the b18B are a bit longer than the b20A cam. But it's really ...... like nothing![]()

Alright guys, I'm taking the video off my server until the end of April. It was downloaded close to 2000 times in this short time, and frankly, I don't want to exceed my bandwidth limit and pay out of my own pocket for the overhead. Sorry for any inconvenience.
so B18A are no good then? Thats what their listed as for B20A/B18A?
Also Mr Budd doen't want to share too many secrets about his 10 second A20 lude, the most we managed to squeeze outta him was that he was putting down 183whp - NOS with his engine before swapping to turbo and was running just over 12 seconds without the NOS so most of his actual speed is down to the car being extremely light weight as mine puts down those numbers but my car is DL weight minus a few lb's from carpet and a few other bits and bobs i've binned, but plan on gutting doors and using lexan side windows, kevlar bucket seats, race mirrors, loosing some sound deadening from old stereo install. With some suspension mods and some stickier wider front tyres i reckon i could cut at least a second or more of my current time of 14.6 seconds, but hope to have a more powerfull A20 engine this summer with about 230whp which should easily cruise in the 12's!!
At least JE have some patterns for A20's and ET's!! So if anyones after forged pistons give em a ring i'm sure they'll want your money!!
just sopke with the U.K dealer for Cat Cams their based in Belgium and they'll make anything from scratch from chilled cast or billet steel, also the years of the B20A they have listed seem to match Preludes and Accords of the same ERA so it looks like they are for an Actual B20A!! The guy's going to phone me back to confirm tomorrow hopefully price was about £360 ish pounds for the pair which is pretty good.
Also they said that they could do a custom grind on steel billet for A20 for around £250-300ish only down side they need a head and valve train to test fit but as i have plenty spare shouldn't be a problem!!
I was actually thinking rich that our hp numbers are quite high. Seems our speeds were *relatively* similar and I was only pushing 130 at the wheels. I also believe torque has a lot to do with our speed! I can still lay it out to 200+ hp cars without trouble, so it is by no means slow. I'd bet Budd is pushing around 250lbs of torque with the turbo and maybe 230whp. Dont want to step on your toes here because I was looking for much higher numbers too!
Anyway I dont think it was posted here but here is the turbo video, 10 flat.

How does the steel billet compare in strength to the stock A20 cam?
