pop up light switch?

On the right side of the steering wheel, is a switch for the pop up lights, was just wondering y its there, i've always used it cause my right pop up doesn't move up or down so i always left it up, to make things even I had the other one up to.

Well I dont know what its true purpose is for but I know since I live in MN and it freezes here. That I tend to just pop up the lights before a huge storm so if they get frozen they will get frozen up so I can still drive. It just allows you to pop them up or down with out the lights being on.

And you can make the car wink

It is there so when it freezes and you know it will freeze, you can leave them up.

I think they just told you. It's to raise the lights before a storm. Then when you go to leave after the storm has passed your lights are up and not frozen in the down position.

Gee, I thought it was so you could change the light without having it shining in your eyes

I live in Texas, too. I guess my use for the switch is to pop up the lights and clean them when I am washing the car. With my H4 conversions I can easily change out a bulb with the light in the closed position.

I believe the popup swtich's main purpose is when you want to "high-beam" someone in the daytime, in the event where your popups are down, you can do it by pressing the popup switch then flicker the highbeam to notify the person in front of you that you wanted to do something.. (ie. passing or just plain getting attention)

It's harder to high beam flicker someone when the popups go up and down when you flicker the highbeams.

Or, in Texas, to signal to the SOB in front of you that you would like for them to shoot you...

Too bad "passing lights" don't really do anything for you here - except piss off the "flashee."
