    back up light switch?? help

ok so last weekend i did my engine swap and the wiring harness that came with the engine doesnt have the two wires for the reverse lights. the engine came out of an 88 dx automatic and went into my 87 dx 5 spd. i used the 88 wiring harness and vaccum box because mine was messed up. any ways anyone that has gone auto to stick tell me how to make my reverse lights work please!

I think the auto wiring for backup is somewhere round the gear selector switch in the car, not under the hood....

I never paid close attention, but shouldn't there be like 2 wires (black and green) that goes into the manual tranny? Those would be the reverse wires.

okay ur in luck, I had the same problem cuz i was stupid.

Go to the clip connector with a lot of wires to it, near the air filter.

Remove the clear, goo filled sheaths and expose the wires to expose geen/black and white

Find two wires, Green/Black and a while one right next to each other.

Get your wire leads from your tranny, they are green and Yellow if im not mistaken.

Join the green to green and yellow to white.

I will double check it with you in my next reply cause i have to get outta my bed, but im too lazy
