Unhappy What model do i have? Warning: Extreme Newb

Okay the car was debadged by the previous owner, and from searching the board I'm confused. He says its an LXi. But its carb'd, manual windows, manual driver side mirror, no passanger side mirror, no bose stereo. So what do I have?

BTW, this is my first honda. Sorry for the newbness. Yes I've searched. Maybe not well enough.

Oh and what the hell is that black pull knob on the left side of the steering wheel for? I pull it and nothing happends. I pushed up and down on my steering wheel with it pulled thinking it might be the tilt. The wheel didnt move up or down so... confused.

Other then that, whatever model it is, it runs great, 160k miles, rebuilt auto. interior is in perfect shape, exterior could use minor (just minor though) work.

I'll have pics later on in this thread.

It sounds like you have a DX there.

The black knob you speak of is for the tilt steering; you have to pull it out and push it down to release the column and adjust the wheel.

pull out and push down onteh lever.. then it will move.. then pull back up and push in and it will lock...

prolly a DX if you have black bumpers, LX if you have painted bumpers.. but with no power... prolly a DX

check the title!!! or www.carfax.com and do a VIN search

Doesn't bother me. You use them what, one time when you first get the car? Hell I don't think I've adjusted mine in 2 years.

It doesn't bother you that you have to manually roll up the windows? When I had my base model Kia, it sure bugged the hell out of me.

Manual mirrors are no biggie. I never use them anyway and my drivers side is jacked up. It won't go up high enough to be useful so I have to duck down to see out of it. I would like power windows though. It just seems more luxurious. I'll probably get those here sometime this year so it's cool.

yeah, power mirrors are nice, i would rather have that then power windows. I always have a problem with worn out window motors and manual windows isnt much work and they are less costly and likely to break.

niceeee lightbulb. I use them for when people have their brights on behind me or have a gigantic SUV and are riding my ass. What i do is move the mirror all the way out so it will reflect somewhat back at them.
