is it true that when you drive, lets say on any gear and rev all the way to 4500-5000 rpm then you switch of the car and switch the key back on that it makes a loud popping sound?? i tried when i was 3rd gear but the sound was minor.but it sounded cool As anyone tried this?just wanna know

uh my friend wanted me to do that once but i didn't, plus my honda isn't a 5spd so it'll be hard to get it up to 4,500 and keep it there. but i think it's bad to turn you car off and back on while driving...?

The "boom" you hear is caused by unignited fuel in the exhaust system. But, on a fuel-injected engine the fuel is cut off when you turn off the ignition = almost no fuel goes to waste in the exhaust. On an carburetted engine, do this:
1. Rev it to 3000 rpm, keep it in gear
2. Turn off the ignition, and give it full throttle for 1 second
3. Release the throttle and turn on the ignition
4. Enjoy the loud "boom" that blows a hole the size of your fist in the muffler

Well, if you just pump a little fuel into the exhaust it will give less damage. Fuel in Norway costs $1,30 per litre (highoctane w/o lead, your "92"), so we do not waste fuel in such a way...

Agreed.
Carbed cars will do it 100 times easier than EFI. My friend did it all the time in his old Dart, and yes he did blow a hole in the muffler. Not really a hole, more like a rip down the side at the weld. And that car still ran 5 years later. I don't reccomend doing it to a Honda, there is a lot of things that can go wrong. He did it with a slant six, witch is more durable than the A20.

Uh I tried it on the way home from the dr. I was only going like 50 @ 3,000 and it didn't pop. My whole car shook though so I only did it once. I don't have to worry about a hole in my muffler as I don't have one. I wish I did though my car is loud as fuck and it sucks.
