no it won't work. F20 was from 90-93 accord Si-R. it is nice engine with 190hp but it won't work. it will require a lot of custom things such as engine mounts, axels, and so on and on.
if i was you i wouldn't listen to that guy because the way it looks he doesn't know shit about swaps for our cars.
the only engine that will bolt right up are JDM b18A and JDM B20A both from 86-89 honda accord. for everything else you will need new engine mounts.

Okay, once again, we are confused.

    Just to help you out,

    1. F20A in the 90-93 Accord 2.0Si is 150 HP.

    2. B20A in the 86-89 Accord 2.0Si is 160 HP.

    3. Yes, the older car has more HP. Honda did that alot in the late 80's.

    4. There is no 90-93 Accord SiR.

    5. The 6G JDM Accord SiR has a F20B DOHC VTEC motor, and it "only" has 180 HP.

Yeah, you also need to be specific when you talk about JDM Honda motors, because they don't use the last number to identify the motors.

    What I mean is:

    USDM
    (3G)
Accord LX A20A1, SOHC, carb, 98 HP
    Accord LX-i A20A3, SOHC, PGMFI, 122HP

    JDM
    (6G)
Accord 2.0VT F20B, SOHC VTEC, PGMFI, 150 HP
Accord SiR F20B, DOHC VTEC, PGMFI, 180 HP

There is no 5th number, so all engines are called the same, even though they are vastly different.

The swap would be just as difficult as a H22 swap. The F and the H are the same engine, the H gets the top shelf parts. If you search through the board you might find someone that had a H22 in his 3G, but he never got it running and gave up on the project. So most people's consensus on this board is that it is not feasable without a lot of time, money and resources. So far no one has done it.

There is a few differant F engines. Some are 2 litres, some are 2.2, some are sohc, some are dohc, some have vtec, some even were carbed. Your best bet if you want an F is to just get a newer Accord, they fit perfectly without any fuss.

i thought the JDM B20 in our car had like 135-140 hp. if it will bolt right up, which i didnt know, i'm going to see my local performance shop. the owner goes to the phillipines often and gets some good JDM type engines. i always thought the block was different in the B20s, all of them. but if thats the same as the A20, i guess i just havent been paying attention, maybe i forgot?

It's the EURO B20A that has 135 HP.

The block's are different than the A20. The mounts (mostly) are the same.

thats not totally true. the F and H have the same block, but they are a lot different. the F blocks come sleeved, the H doesnt. There are a few other things, but thats a big difference.

you can't find JDM B18A, they are rare as hell. the only place that has them in the US is the place in the baltimore, MD. 410-342-4404.
don't confuse the B18A with B18 engines in integras. they are 100% dif.
the JDM B18A for our cars had dual sidedraft carbs. it made 130hp. it is perfect bolt on if you have carb car.
if you want power, go with JDM B20A. again, don't mistake the engine with 88-89 prelude B20A. they are 100% diff.
you have to look for JDM 86-89 honda accord B20A.

i've been wondering, sorry for my ignorance, but does the f22 in the 90-93 accords have the same block as the h22? if so, wouldn't it be easier to just swap heads to do the h22 vtec swap on the 4th gen?

No, it is not the same block. The mounts are the same, and most of the components are interchangable. The H22A Block has special sleeves, piston oil squirters, larger oil capacity, higher compression, increased cooling capicity, better rods, along with a few other little things. On the outside the head, exaughst manifold, intake manifold, throttle body are all more well suited to higher power at higher rpms. When it comes to accesories like oil & water pumps, dizzy and timing belt tensioner those are all interchangable.

You can put a DOHC non vtec head on any F Series tough. The JDM F22B head will work withoug problem.

I also guess that the F20B head might fit.... this is a dohc vtec head

yeah it's pretty much a given, why bother with a 3gee? if you want a performance accord, just go a generation up 4th gen and you can swap in the powerful h22a engine. you can usually get 4th gens about the same price as a good 3rd gen anyways. i say the easiest route is to boost the 3gee if you decide to keep it. BTW, can't you use civic/teg/prelude turbo kits just by cutting off your DC sports or cheapo Pacesetter header flange and weld it to the civic turbo manifold after cutting off the civic flange? again, pardon my ignorance. i need to know if that could work. the way i see it, in order to make the turbo to bolt up is the piping right? then just worry about the air/fuel stuff later.

So...any F head will work with any F block? If I can get my hands on a JDM F20B head, it will bolt up to my F22A1 in my 4g accord? I'm intrigued.
