    new 3g wont start

well, my friend had an 82 f150 and it didnt run, so he traded it for a non workin 3g. the previous owner was driving it and it just died. so now it is at my house. the problem is, when we turn the key, nothing happens. no lights go on, not a signle click from the starter. the radio and windows wont work either. we put in a new battery and the headlights will work, but nothing else. anyone know what it could be? right now we are guessing it could be the starter and/or alternator. any help would be appreciated. thanx.

did you check the main fuses under the hood.
the fuse box inder the hood has big main fuses. check them. they are holding with two screws.

also check the engine ground wire. That will cause all kinds of weird problems. there should be a wire runing from one of the valve cover studs to the front somewhere.

also there is a ground from a harness near the starter to the thermostat housing that needs to be hooked up.

And double check the wires from the battery.

tune up... since it hasn't run in a while... replace the fuel filters and oil and such.

    start with simple tune up.
    fuel filters,
spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor.
a lot of carb cleaner to clean the carb.
if you don't have emissions remove vacuum lines right away.
