    wings on hatchbacks

I have an 86 Accord LX-i hatchback. how do you put a spoiler on it. Does it have to be a special kind? All the spoilers I have seen have mounting plates that wont fit on the decklid of the hatchback because its too skinny.

Dont let all these guys put you down. I have a hatch...with a wing....and it looks great.

I'm pretty sure theyre all thinking you want to put some sort of aluminum spoiler on your hatch which will not look good at all. The only way you would be able to pull off an alum wing on a hatch would be to have some sort of extreme, well done body kit. Kinda like iceman107's.

Other than that stick wit something small and simple. Oh and nothing is going to directly bolt on so if you want something tha looks right you'll have to go custom.

i'd have to agree with guaynabo89. the smaller wings, like the one he has, would give the hatch a sportier sleeker look, but the bigger ones just make the hatch look stupid. It really wont make your car more aerodynamic than the way it is stock. i saw one on cardomain...and it totally looks out of place. if anything it's just going to add more weight. If you're goin to get one...do a custom like the one guaynabo has: small simple and clean!

Im not talking about those big 3 foot tall wings. You guys remember the rear spoilers on the 87-93 Mustang GT hatchbacks? Thats more along the lines of what im looking for. I am looking for at the most, 6 to 8 inches tall. I think big wings in general look kinda gay, no matter what car they are on.

Hondaman87 has something similar to what your describing BITESIZE. It looks good because it fits his car really well and looks like a factory fit i think it was from an old supra or celica or something to that effect.

hmm I think in the summer if I still have my car im going to make a fiberglass wing for above either above the hatch window, or at the bottom of it, ill play around in photoshop and see what I like. I will probably buy a junkyard spoiler and then get out the saws and fiberglass and rig something up.

The solar wings for the late 80's early 90's Mustangs will fit on the hatch. If your looking for a spoiler looking thing coming off the roof. They dont look that bad if you et the medium /small size.
