    Front Knuckle questions

How concerned should I be about this?

I'm going to be putting in new springs/struts/shocks and was looking things over and saw this. I know my alignment is slightly off (vibrates on the highway), was putting off getting an alignment till after I put the new stuff in.

But was wondering how this could of happened. Both sides are pretty much the same. Driver side (picture) is the worst. I know that the springs are sagging on the driver side. These things were pretty much the way they were when I bought the car.

Thanks I just want to know if its really just nothin and im being paranoid. I know just enough mechanical stuff to be dangerous. Funny confession: I looked for about a week trying to see where the hose coming from the tranny was supposed to connect to. Till I asked someone and they told me that it was a vent tube and was not supposed to be that way.

sort of a small pic but if you want to see the original pic just put orig.jpg after the link.

The bushing looks done for...I highly suggest getting new ones.

you talking about the upper control arm??????? All I see is a pretty trashed boot for the upper balljoint. Order one off ebay. Theres a guy that has the upper arm along with the bushing kit for like 60 bucks or so each side, shipped. I ordered both sides from him Saturday and got them in today.

The upper balljoint boot dry rotted

You can replace the boot if the balljoint is okay, but if you have never replaced the balljoint then with the age of our cars I would suggest replacing the balljoints uppers are easy lowers are alittle more difficult but replacable by the DIYer.
    Hope this helps
