ignition timing on 3g european version

    hi guys,

just read the threads here about adjusting ignition timing with no vacum hoses on and so on...(read the manual too)...the thing is that on my car, there is a patch on the hood saying that the timing should be at 10+/-2 degrees before tdc WITH THE VACUM HOSES ON!. And the only marks on the flywheel are 10 with 2 lines before/after it.

the question is ...is this something particulary related to european models only? or should i forget about it and adjust the timing according to pauls manual? (15-no vacum)

    happy Easter to you all!
    peace!

with vacuum lines removed from distributor and pluged. shine the timing light.
if the T mark should be accross the pointer. adjsuted if you have to.
connect the vacuum lines back to the distributor and shine the light again. you should see the new marking.
if you don't see the marking, your vacuum advance is not working properly.

ahh...now i got it...so the whole thing about vacuum on - vacuum off, is just to check if the vacuum advance is working properly...if you just want to andjust the timing (supposing the vacuum is woking advance properly), you don't have to unplugg them....

    thank's guys...now it's clear
    peace!
