LXi Troque convertor on LX?

Need a torque convertor will one from LXi fix in my LX?

From what I've seen both carb and FI cars have the same automatic transmission so the torque converters should be interchangeable.

they are and the lx/dx has a higher stall speed i believe

there are differences between the two trannys.. the carb vs FI, I mean. The carb version has a different gear ratio.. i think only the 3rd and overdrive .. .as for the torque converter... I was wondering that also.. I think I need a new one.

I have an equal important question.

According to the honda tech manual the torque converter consists of the 'stator housing...and pump' .. is this pump the main fluid p ump for th transmission. My problem i that my tranny makes a whining noise in any gear other then P or N. curious to whether a Tq converter swap would cure the problem... the tranny was alegedly rebuilt 90,000 miles ago.

anyone else hear of this?
