    Cars off but my deck isnt!?!?!?!

    Ok ive had this problem befroe and it was cause everything was wried wrong, but now i got it fixed and its been great for a long while now, but just now when i went to turn the car off the deck stayed on, please help me and with the deck on i cant set my alarm for some reason, please help me/

    Hmmmm.....so it has been working now it's not, try resetting your deck. There is a post above about it, other than that I'm not really sure what it could be. But the only way your deck could stay on without the key in is if the deck was getting power. That tells me that it's not the deck, it's a wiring problem somewhere in the car.

    wierd...check your power wires....maybe you've got your +12v constant switched with the +12v ACC wire

    It might also be a bad ignition switch, causing the accessories positon to stay on.

    i know what it is

    what the problem is that its that big metal cord looking thing. its not connected in all the way i had the say probelm with my dads car.

    I have seen a few decks go bad and actually feed power back through themselves through the constant 12volt wire. Take your deck out but leave the harness plugged up and see if your 12v ignition wire is getting power with your car off. If it isnt you have a bad head unit.

    Another idea is to disconnect the power wire from the deck and test it with a voltometer, if that wire is getting power with the key off you can find a wire to use that doesn't have power when the key is off.

    It's the ignition switch. I have the same intermittent problem.
