Washer trick for camber correction

I heard that there was some trick for correcting your camber in the back by sliding on washers...whats the deal with this and does it work? Is there any danger of damaging anything or is it safe? Help me out.

Buy some washers and metric bolts at the hardware store. The bolts should be 10 X 25 at the smallest. You can get longer ones if needed however the 10 mm must remain constant. Get washers that fit around the bolts. To put it on, unbolt your upper control arms from the body. Slide the washers behind the mount and put your new longer bolts back in. Bada-bing, bada-boom, you're done.

And nothin breaks, bends, snaps, rubs or anything like that? I went to gmpperformance.com and i saw the camber kits, i am gonna get the kit for the front but my tires in the back arent bending in that bad so i figured the washer trick would work. I just cant have anything else goin wrong with it all.

It works fine. All your doing is pushing the upper control arm out. It doesn't put any more stress on the suspension than a camber kit. It gives me more peace of mind than a camber kit would.

yea but you have to get longer bolts. I tried it with just one washer and the stock bolts, it's a pain to put back together and there isn't enough threads left.

make sure you get tempered bolts so they dont break on ya

And when u get it all together, use alot of lock-tight

Yea make sure you get high quality bolts too, having you rear suspension fall apart on you at 60mph would not be fun. Do it right the first time and save your self the headache.

Can the washer trick be done in the front and back, or just the back?

just the back, you will need prelude arms or camber kit for the front.
