I just got a 87 honda accord dx 2bbl for free. i've had nothign but extreme problems with the carburator. all the vaccumm shit was all messed up. and i wanna know if anyone has compeltely removed the black box full of vacuum lines and egr and cruise control.

idont have any of that and i neewd to know exactly where vacuum lines should be hooked up to make the choke and everything work. there are like a dozen nipples on the carb and i need to know which are blocked and where should they go. does anyone have pics?? thx

Where are you from by the way... I'm asking because I have let go of a few broken accords that I didn't have the money to fix but they still ran... I did remove a lot of things from the motors prior to having them towed...
I'm just glad you got it for free, cause I'm always afraid some of my junk parts car accords would be resold as good cars when they actually aren't.

how are they confusing... don't just say they are confusing.

Anyways there is plenty of info there if you need help with something specific then ask away... otherwise the genreral stuff is explained in the threads...

do you have #'s on the metal vacuum lines... do you have the metal vacuum lines surrounding the carb, or do you just have the carb?

i got rid of all the vacuum lines, i did everything the diagrams show. the car runs awesome, except for wot. as early as 3k at full throttle it just flattens out rpms drop and then dies. but i can start it back up again and drive fine as long as i dont floor it. what gives??? i even tried another carb it does the same thing. yes the secondary diapgram is connected to the nipple on the left side of the air jet controller.

check the spring tension on the linkage beneath the accelerator pump diaphragm... it could be too soft giving a delay.

lol probably... mine was at a point where I could disconnect all the wires except for 1 under the seat the slow mix solenoid controller I dunno how it worked but without it I couldn't get idle... maybe I should have removed and plugged the damn thing.

Thry connecting the one at the top right corner of the carb tophat (closest to the VIN plate on your dash) this is the power valve vacuum. It ain't much of a power valve but it does the job you're looking for.

    The freaking solenoid:

the power valve (by the fuel intake / float setting) it says "Intake Manifold" you want const. vacuum

wow that last pic is missing the solenoid... I think it'll leak gas if you do that I dunno.
    also does your choke open?

eh the car finally died. no fuel was coming out of the line so i guess the fuel pump was my problem. i got the car for free and needs too many things. i just took my friends offroad bronco and pretty much drove over the honda and now its kinda crushed. haha junk yard time
