I paid 200 for mine but needed a shit load of body work and a new interior.I bought it because it was in great shape underneath and the guy I got it from was the second owner.
I paid $2,300 for mine a week ago. Only had 157,xxx on it, everything worked, exhaust leak was recently fixed, front brakes were recently replaced along with cap, rotor & wires. Newer radio. 9/10 exterior. 8/10 interior. Took in for a prebuyers inspection & was told the compression test came back good; 155-150 on each.

My first: 1986 Lxi hatch. bought second hand from Scottsdale Jaguar in 1989. I worked there detailing cars and it was a trade in--$6200.00
My second: 1988 Lxi hatch. Headed to the junkyard. I bought for 500.00. Its the one in my sig.
My third: 1987 Lxi hatch: same scenario as above. Paid 400.00 for it. just a parts car that I thought I could get running. I pulled the valve cover off last weekend and saw water in the oil. Guess it will remain a parts car...
Paid $1300 for it in April...invested ~$2000 as of now, and more to come. Feel inadequate because the only thing I've done myself is the valve cover gasket
As of now:
-New Tires $400
-New P/S Rack ~$400 (Also new Tie Rods/ends)/ P/S Pressure Hose replacement($200..total rip..was going to attempt it myself, but I couldn't find out how to get to the inlet on the rack. Saw the access point while checking my oil burnoff under the car one night)
-New Timing Belt/drive belts ~$400
-New CV Axles, front control arms $400
-NGK plugs/(shudder)Autocraft wires(getting NGK), dizzy cap/rotor button(Tune up was $120 with parts/fuel system cleaning)
I still need to get it a transmission flush, my oil pan(and possibly filter base gasket..) leak onto exhaust, and now my radiator's leaking at the neck, I think.. Also looks like my P/S drive belt is wet, reservoir's getting a little low again..
Head unit croaked last week, and my climate control lights still only come on at their leisure.
Hoping to get in an attempt at changing my thermostat and oil pan gasket, also have to buy a new radio..
Very jealous of so many <$1000 USD finds, especially since mine needs more work :/

water in the oil? dont let it stay a parts car over a head gasket! shouldnt take more then 3 hours to fix
1988 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe 123k miles.
Paid $400 for my 89 accord lx in feb. Put about another 500in the motor and still a lot left. Keep eye out for my project thread cming soon!
I've had six 3G's over the years. First one was an '88 LXi sedan that I bought in 1995 for $4500. Next was an '88 LXi coupe I got at an auction in about 2002 for $1400, I think. Then about 3 years later I got another '88 sedan that had hit a deer and needed a hood and headlight for $550. Then came a really clean '87 LXi hatch with a failing auto trans for $300. Then a month ago I bought an '89 LXi coupe that had been tapped in the back breaking the taillights and denting the trunklid for $400, and last week I got an '89 SEi coupe with a bad muffler and cracked windshield for $750.
$4500 for mine back in 94 I think...has been my daily driver ever since. Back then I had something like 40,000 miles on it.

I did a bit of horse trading to get into it....
started with a
-96 Ford Aspire with bad trans for $400 and a $425 junk yard trans. Drove the wheels off of it for two years...
Traded it for a
-95 Dodge Intrepid... sitting on 17's all stock
Few months later, traded it for a
-89 Nissan Pathfinder. Drove the wheels off of it. Traded it with tapping lifters, bad trans and 300,000 miles straight across trade for my Accord!!
Only did regular maintenance on all no investment on any after the trans into the Aspire.... So thats how I got into this SWEET Accord for only $825.00

Obviously I put money into them while I owned them, but I made off pretty damn well along with always getting nicer parts from the previous car.
#1 Helped my ex get a car by trading in my Prizm and got the 3gee in return (he bought it for $480) sadly had to junk it 3 yrs. later due to extenuating circumstances
#2 bought for $800, fixed a few things and sold it for $1300.
#3 bought for $1200 non-running cause I wanted #1 back. Put $800 into the engine rebuilding it and I love it.

I paid $2000 for mine with just over 100k back in 1999 I think. Drove that thing for 3 years. I don't miss the vacuum nightmare however.

Traded a 1998 Oldsmobile Regency Elite automatic with a failing water pump ( Absolute nightmare to get to. ) for my 1988 Honda Accord LX-i 5-Speed with the A20A3 straight up. Just cleaned out the thermovalve and IAC to get it idling right. About to do a complete engine rebuild and bore it out to .50mm.But until then...valve adjustment is in my future...

Its got 293xxx but was one owner who did all service at factory recommended intervals! Even spent the extra money for the Honda oil filters! Still a really clean tight little car.
