I got my 89 lx for free and wrecked it recently. The fender was rubbing agaist the alternator. So I decided it wasnt worth the money to bail it out of the junkyard. I only put about 1500$ into it over the years and it needed alot more.

wow, i feel like i got ripped off

1150 for it with 235K. The engine looked clean, at that time i knew nothing about cars.... sounded good, so we bought it. Found out later it was running on 3 cylindars, all fuel injectors leaked. TW sensor, fuel injectors, distributer, EGR valve, Fast idle control valve, thermostat, and a tune up later, she's running fine.

But we got ripped off at the mechanic....... he charged us 1000 for the fuel injectors and distributer with labor, the dist didn't need replaced, just the cap.

    I hate that guy.......

I found mine in a field for 300 bucks with a siezed motor but the guy had another one and he gave it to me for free. But it was siezed as well so i got another one and it was good to go. You can tell that it was found in a field because i found a dead mouse under my back seat when i pulled them out.

Bought my 88 lx Last year in um... october i want to say.... for $450. the guy was selling it for $550 and i agreed to pay it but for some reason he went down on the price as soon as i agreed on $550 (now i understand why! and if you saw the pics you do to...) no ac.... gauge lights don't work at night, engines spraypainted (that guy was a !@#$ing idiot!), replaced passenger side cvs twice, drivers side once, ball joints, etc. etc.

$2100 in february of '05, 116k miles, mint condition except for two small rust spots which were jsut covered up with touch up paint, and a few small dings and keyhole scratches.

I'm the second owner, and have all the records of maintenance from the year it was bought to now. Runs perfect, no problems. Though i think i'm going to be contributing to it having problems by putting money into the motor, lol.

I got my 89 Se-i 4 door for free. The previous owner had been replacing the engine in it, and while it ran it had many small problems. He got a BMW and his mom wanted it out of their garage.

It came with manual transmission in the back seat (auto currently installed), an old engine with a thrown rod, several pails of random parts and bolts that they figured were not needed, and an old set of tires. It had no AC, but I got a new AC system from a junkyard for $40 and almost have it installed.

Other than still being rusty (I plan to fix that soon), I have manged to get it running good. The only problem I have now is that the parking pawl (in the transmission) is still broken. Good thing the parking brake works.

$350 for Mad Max...the 88 LXi. The paint was gone, interior pretty shot...radio was possesed, the sun roof broken, the front end completely bent. I took it to Midas or some shitty place and they gave me the front end alignment feedback sheet and just started laughing. Boy that car was more crooked than a New York City banker, but it could excellerate like crazy. That thing wouldn't die...too bad I had to put it out of its misery to transplant that sweet sweet A20A3!

Now it shall live again in the form of Hatchmaster Flash!!! Muhahahahahahahaha! Alright fellas bear with me I'm on cold medication. My brain is barely intact. Argh...that's what I get for licking a public toilet seat...damn you Mr. Eff and your bar bets...JUST KIDDING FOLKS!

i paid $300 for my lxi. i work for a tow truck company and we actually towed this guy for being abandonded at some apartment complexes we have a contract with. the lady didnt pick it up for about 35 days, by california law we are obligated to lean any vehicle after a 72 hour period. so after the 30 days we're required to keep it before selling it, my boss sold it to me for only 300. he was actually going to sell it for 1500 but he said, "hey its a perk of the job, you get a great deal on a towed/leaned car!"

so good deal, it came with 180721 mi on it. so far, after having it only 21 days i have already put 948 mi on it. and filled the tank only 3 times....man you got to love those honda engines!
