For the carb people: You too can have a B20A

Just to mention what Carotman and I were discussing in message, and it's something you carb people will like.

Since the A20 intake manifold fits to the B20A, you can also fit the carb manifold to it. Add a weber on top, and away you go. This would also solve the need for an ECU. All you need in the engine, tranny, and some axles. Oh, and the rear mount, of course.

The guy from Peurto Rico (AccordSI???) runs dual DCOE's on his, so it's not impossible. Also, Carotman is going to put his old LX manifold on his B20A and will try to get pics.

well if you were gonna put out the money and time to do the swap, wouldn't you also convert to efi. i mean you got the motor right there. how much do you supposed it would cost to do the efi swap too?

Well, sometimes carbs are better, mostly for racing only though.

i don't know about EFI but when i got my car. i hated carb sooo much you won't believe. but now it love it.
it is a lot easy to deal with it. the only problem is that vacuum thing. i hate them sooo much.

A webber carb would solve all the sotck keihin problems.

Our stock carb wouldn't be able to run that engine properly.

Converting to EFI isn't that expensive but it costs time.
Then you have to mess with the B20A wire harness to make it work. Not fun IMHO

carotman, If you have a 86-87 B20A could you put on the 88-89 A20A3 intake manifold?

Also what is the differenc between the 86-87 B20A, and 88-89 B20A?

Seriously, what all is involved (yes I know I'm from the South, shut up) in doing the EFI conversion? I know the ill performance big block domestics run on carbs but I'm not planning on going that high-perf with a fucking Accord. Plus I am a bit disenchanted with carbed motors because my carb is not aging gracefully and hence causing overrevving problems. Must hold out for B20A... must resist temptation to spend $100 rebuilding goddamn carburetor... bleargh...

Yeah I guess that you can slam an A20A EFI intake manifold on any year B20A.

So you can use the early model and just snal your current intake manifold.

The only problem I found so far is the O2 sensor. The 88-89 B20A uses only 1 O2 sensor while the A20A ECU needs 2 inputs for that.

I will either get a USDM B20A intake manifold with 2 O2 sensors or drill a second hole in the one I have.

I am going to run my B20 on a carb.
There is no way that I can take the Loom out of my B20 parts car as it has no pop ups and the wireing is in a poor state in places.
Does anyone have a part number for the weber adapter or can you tell me where I can get one from? (new or used)
I have been told to try a few places and some of them didn't even answer the emails I sent.

I've always had luck with Pierce Manifolds. I don't know how they are about international orders, and they also only accept phone/faxed orders (they have an 800 number, but I don't know if thats free from the uk). I will say that they have some good sales people and are very helpful. They even called me back once when they noticed that I had ordered a wong part for my carbs and corrected it.
